Bolinao and Alaminos Wonders Part 2

After checking out at the resort, we went to the town proper, we visited the 400 years old St. James Fortress. The church is under renovation because of the pass typhoons. The church is a real treasure but it looks disaster when we visited it. I hope they can preserve the place. It was founded by the Augustinians and the building was made from coral stones which is very abundant in the place. In front of the church, there are some selling “Binungey”, a local delicacy of Bolinao. It is rice cake cooked in a bamboo shoots and covered with banana leaves atop. I just tasted it; we don’t know that you need some sugar for flavorings. Sorry, my bad.

Bolinao and Alaminos Wonders Part 1

I’ve been to Pangasinan most of the time but mostly on the eastern part. But this last Tuesday (08.16.11) after our last class in Tourism Planning and Development, I and my partner Angelica headed down to the province of Pangasinan to visit Bolinao and Alaminos, the Hundred Islands.

PP Underground River

November 11, 2011 or 11.11.11 would be a terrific date (I hope) in the history of tourism. In this day, the New7Wonders Foundation who came up with the New7Wonders of the World will announce the new winners under new category and that would be New7Wonders of Nature (N&W of Nature).

Just Trotting

"I am a simple guy who loves to travel." A bit used up quote for tourism students who always try to tell they want to travel that is why tourism is their chosen course. For us, it is true. But as soon you learn how tourism works, you soon know what would be the greater reasons why you love to travel.

I am Zhian, a student from Baguio who really loves to travel. I guess that's it. I really love to travel. As a simple tourism student who aims more than anything than to travel, I decided to go into blogging to help my co-travelers find some information, inspiration (I hope), tips and advice in travelling to any destination I have been to. I never been to many and far destinations. I am only trekking around the island of Luzon for my travel satisfaction but I am striving to be part of longer vacation travels whether adventure, relaxation and business.

In this blog, my motive is to be a help in giving you information you needed (as long as I know), and to interact with you my fellow travelers. I reckon, that is how tourism works, you socialize and gain friends.

So, follow me as I update this blog with my trotting experiences. I am Zhian and I love to travel.

*TRAVEL: preserving destinations, appreciating cultures, socializing with locals and becoming a new person in a new place you decided to be with for a few days.

MARAMING SALAMAT po! (Thank you very much!)
